misalignment 915 input shaft?
I am overhauling the 915 from my non modified matching numbers 1986 3.2 targa
While all the other gears are perfectly aligned (red arrow), there is a 4.5mm overshoot (yellow arrow) of the input shaft pinion against the 1st gear on the gear shaft. This is not a result of my re-assembly skills cause it was there before I worked on it too. I just had not noticed. The wear on the pinion teeth shows that this overshoot remains once the case is back on. Is this 'normal'? ![]() |
