I bought one from Pelican a while back and never seemed to be able to install it. The wires come out the side of the box, yet need to wrap around it to go out the notch on the distributor. Worked with it for a long time, but no luck. In my opinion, the wires should come straight out the back. Or maybe I'm an idiot and was doing it wrong....

Jkeen:
I have had one in my '76 targa and '62 356 and have had no problems with DE, racing, daily driving etc... Call pertonix tech support if you need help. There are several threads on installing pertronix in the archives here. Most reference which hot / switchable lead on the fuse panel in the left rear of the engine bay to attach one of the wires to and how best to route the other wire (one red and one black and I forget which is what for). They do work! (and no points for 2+ years, no dwell angle to reset when setting timing, etc...) Jason |

with CDI:
Red- any 12v power source that is on when the ignition is in the run position. black- connect to the wire your points attached to. Wthout CDI: Red- coil + Black- coil - then attach 12v power that is on when the ignition is in the run position to the coil +
