hex vs allen trans fill bolt part # ??
EDIT: Our host found this part # for me: 999.064.008.02 , hopefully this works.
I cannot find a part number for the hex-style transmission filler plug for an '81 SC. Does anyone know the part # for the suitable plug? I want to replace the stock Allen-style plug as others have done. TIA Last edited by motorstereo; 03-01-2023 at 08:03 AM.. |

I prefer to use a second drain plug with the magnet in it as a fill plug. The differential slings oil on the fill plug. The magnetic fill plug on my transmission often has as much metal as the drain plug when I do an oil change.

The hex plug was replaced by the Allen type and the hex is NLA.

Hex Plug
The hex plug was used for Porsche transmissions from the 1950s until it was dropped in the 1980s. Just buy one on the internet.

Transmission drain/fill plug
Does one of the plugs offered by
https://www.discounthydraulichose.com/9030m-metric-hex-head-plug.html fit the Porsche Transmission? |
