G model to F 73 RS
Firstly I did search this forum plus research other forums and I'm really confused.
Own 75 G model which I want restmod to 73 RS model. This of course mean few things 1. Changing rear 3/4 panels , they are rusty and dmagae anyway then I want get new ones.. Dansk I can't find one which will be matching RS ( I don't care about thickness of the panel) 2. Front i need change fenders and trunk to long one from what I did found out. I did found the whole conversation setup for like 8-10k but that it's out of the question due to budget. Is Dansk /JP have any parts which will be exactly this same as 73 RS but fit on G model ? Of course with conversion of the front... Or anyone from Europe can advise where I can find this parts. Wysane z mojego M2101K9G przy uyciu Tapatalka |

I think someone is going to recommend TRE in Cali any second.

Just thinking out loud.
For this conversion you will need.. Front bumper Rear bumper Left front fender Right front fender light boxes / turn signals LongHood Duck tail Right rear quarter Left rear quarter Tons of misc gaskets, bolts..ect..ect..ect Wider wheels (or wheel spacers at minimum.) and a whole lot of welding, painting and fitting to make this all work. Have you established a budget for this? When doing the math to get my sc to a 73RSR look alike I was north of $20,000 all in. Really I was north of $25K when I looked to do it correctly with good Fuchs wheels. it may be worth putting a spreadsheet together and figuring out the costs. also, do you want metal everything vs aftermarket fiberglass parts? who will do the painting? Tre was a good resource above, but that's all fiberglass (which may be your direction) one bit of caution, the cheaper you go up front on fiberglass the more time and money it will take to make it fit correctly, don't underestimate that, I have had to literally cut bumpers in half, remove material and glass them back together to make everything fit correctly, its very labor and time intensive. Good luck with your project, the 73RS is a sweet car

$350 for front latch panel $150 for replacement light box frames ( just bottoms) New or used light boxes and lenses say $500 $600 ish. $10 of 20 gauge steel for front fender extensions. $15 of 20 gauge for front hood extension . $500 rear rs bumper gt racing ( had to cut 3/8 inch from each side glass back together. $400 front s bumper $100 $200 Horn grills New seals et et I’m sure I left something out. Of course you’ll need a metal shrinker, bead roller and English wheel for hood and fender extensions and a mig or tig preferably tig. You’ll also have to do some cutting of stock bumper mounts et. Bumpers can vary greatly in cost quality et Getty Design being more pricey but better quality. I’d use steel flares in the back and fiberglass up front.

^you left out paint and body. But that is seriously impressive and goes to show if you hunt for parts you can make it happen on a budget. I feel like a good backdate with attention to the body (no suspension or engine or interior) would run about 15-30k if you include paint and body.
Welding the hood up and using a latch kludge is OK, but I like the earlier latch and using a real longhood and replacing the latch front piece makes a much nicer backdate. Check out Tom's video series Garage Time on YT. He backdates a 75 and does it with an extremely low budget. I forget his final tally (I think 10K?) but that's an exception, not the rule and you have to figure in time. Typically when you are bargain hunting it takes a lot longer.

How bad do you want a 73 RS? A 74 RS would be simpler considering your base

Sounds like the OP is in Europe. EB Motorsports makes nice stuff and they're in the UK. However, if $8k budget makes you itchy, you won't like their pricing. But unless you're a decent fabricator, you'll pay either way. Cut rate components take forever to fit.

FWIW, I did my backdate for under $4k with paint and body work in about 6-7 months working under 8 hours a week. I did all the work including body and paint however and I kept my mid-year latch and panel which cut down on additional work and parts.
Bumpers from Rennspeed: $1200 shipped Backdate light boxes from ST-parts: $300 Light boxes and lenses from ST-Parts: $400 Seals and gaskets from ST-Parts: $200 Short to long hood filler from Stutgart Classica: $200 Body filler and supplies from Amazon: $300 Paint from Eastwood: $400 Misc stuff like welding gas and hardware was probably a few hundred dollars. If I were more prudent and fabricated more parts myself or hunted for used parts I could have easily shaved $1k off, maybe more but I didn’t want to waste that time. Granted, I had and have all the tools I needed so those weren’t factored into the expense. This also doesn’t include the horn grills I fabricated out of brass, the brass mesh for the engine lid, or any of the interior work I did and am doing. If I had to pay someone to do all this I would have expected to pay at least 30k here in Chicago, probably more, way more.

Sorry for not replying earlier.
Generally bits which I have already. Bumpers (front , back ) Spoiler (duck tale) Bonnet I paid for all 1500 euro including gaskets (all matching RS style) I still need fenders and back quarter panels. Not sure if the ones from Carrera will be exactly this same or not ? I consider two options: 1. Get metal ( exact as RS) 2k euro and get metal Carrera SC quarter panels 2k euro for two. 2. Get fiberglass fenders and metal quarter panels. I don't want weld bigger arches as I will be replacing quarter panels ( they are bit properly) I want get close to original as I can. 5k euro already down on parts from original RS which will be visible and hopefully will add some spice to the car. To some people who might know well RS cars attached some picture... ![]() Wysane z mojego M2101K9G przy uyciu Tapatalka |

The Carrera and RS rear flares are not a match

They are not this same the lip is different , you can always Google fenders style from RS but they are bit pricey ...
If you find some solution post here as I'm looking for option as well. Wysane z mojego M2101K9G przy uyciu Tapatalka |
