Headlight switch installed wrong?
Is it possible to install the headlight switch incorrectly? My running lights only come on when the knob is pulled out all the way (2nd click), and they're on even if the car is off. By contrast, the headlights only work if the knob is pulled out halfway (1st click). I'm wondering if I reinstalled the switch wrong the last time I was in there...

I feel like an idiot - I was confusing the hazard light switch with the headlight switch in my mind. I thought the headlight switch was two pieces for some reason. Doh!
Thanks for that diagram. I'll check 'em all out later today.

Do you have the same diagram for a 1981 911? With wire colors included? it would be so helpfull!! Also, do you have photos of the headlight cables, pictured, and where the wires go?
Pictured is 1 cable with Yellow, Blk / white (I see some green on it...not sure if its green paint). The other connectors and single Grey ![]() ![]() |
