Spark Plug 6 - remove AC compressor or not
Hello guys,
Should I remove AC compressor to reach plug no. 6 ? I know its a pain. I have not done it in quite a while and I believe that I would have removed the compressor in my prior 911s. Anyone cares to comment ? Thank you.

Yes it’s best to detach the compressor and swing it out of the way to do anything on the upper right such as valve cover, adjusting valves, and changing plugs

Easy to remove the mounting bolts, and swing it over to lay on the fender. Of course lay a thick towel or something similar under the compressor. No need to disconnect the hoses.

Lay it over on the engine. Carreras have room for that, unlike SCs etc.

If I remember correctly a engine bay protector pad has an extra-thick layer of vinyl, a patch ..on it for this very maneuver...for SC owners who still have an A.C. unit

Lay it on the engine, not the fender. With Carreras anyway. But I mentioned that previously and you must have missed it.

I don’t mess with the compressor on my 3.2. I use the spark plug tool that comes in the tool kit. Works great!

Ok thank you.
I chose the over the side method, with a thick towel under the compressor to protect the paint. Thanks.

Yeah, looks like the act was already done prior to John's better recommendation. Might be worth practicing though given it's already out.
