Bilstein question

Hey Guys,

Trying to put my front end together and seaching down hardware. Does someone out there know if there is a physical difference between a p36-0112 and a p36 0114 shock, or is it just in the cap that comes with the shock? ( I have the p36-0112 in hand)

I'm in the midst of looking for the cap that holds the insert in the strut (911 341 042 04) and want to make sure they all work together correctly.

Well, no replies from Bilstein. When all else fails, make your own part. I'll have my spacers done on my lunch hour today.

This one was easy. Just had to bore the hex out of the strut cap, and make a spacer to hold the instert centered.

And what did he say???
I have some Bilstein inserts for '86 Carrera struts (threads on outside of strut) and I'm wondering if I can just get a different nut thingy to use them on an SC (threads on inside of strut) .

Chris, I'm going the oposite way. We could swap parts if you like. I have the nut thingy's that fit for an inside thread for Bilstein inserts, need the external thread nut.

Hi John,
I'll probably be giving the inserts away at some point to a friend but I haven't found someone who needs them. When I do it will most likely be an SC owner so I that's why I'm curious. If I use them on an SC I'll contact you.
Now what did Bilstein tell you when you talked to them?
-Chris

Oh yeah, they had just left a message returning my call, didn't get to talk to them. I'm gonna call them back tomorrow.

My bilstein inserts for boge carriers included an inside and outside threaded adapter with each strut.

If this if for your '88 that would mean you have a set of inside threaded adapters just lying around. (hint, hint)

Hi,

I am actually looking for those threaded adapter parts. I have nothing to swap, except these funny pieces of green paper with Presidents' faces on them. I want to put those carrera inserts into my SC with Boge struts. Can someone part with a set?

Thanks!

Hi John,
I'm giving my struts to magilla so it looks like a swap would work for us. PM me with your email and we can work out the details.
