Porsche "Save the Whales" Poster?
Many years ago, maybe in the mid 80's, a poster (black and white) and rectangular was available that showed several 911's lined up with the whale tail spoilers in line at a great angle. The poster was titled, "Save the Whales".
I have been searching for this poster for awhile, and what better place to inquire about where it can be obtained. If anyone has any info. Please post. Thanks Bob 1973.5T Sepia of course

I've looked for that one too and would be interested if you find a source.

+1. I've searched everywhere I can think of online and have been unable to find it. I even considered making a new one based on creating a photoshop montage of peoples' cars from this board, but didn't follow through on it.
If someone can find it, I'd LOVE a copy. If not and you guys would be interested in providing me pictures of your whale-tail-equipped cars I'll work on photoshopping something together in the spirit of the original, but with a different twist on it.

Remember the Gruppe R meeting that was spoiled by that famous black Audi wagon?

I am relatively new and never heard the story of the Audi. Do you have a link?

Did anyone ever succeed in finding this?
If not, shall I try to make one?

You can use my car, if you want to re-make the picture.

I have this poster and some of the others that this artist did. I ended up talking to him on the phone a long time ago and he was actually very excited that someone actually liked his work.
So it's rare, huh?

Mike, so who is this artist you speak of so kindly... This could possibly help searching the net for it.
Also, could you snap a pic of the poster? I have seen so many Porsche posters, I honestly can't picture it for some reason.

I'd love to know where to find this and buy a copy (or two) if available.
Knowing this, there's no way I'm going to try and create one - the concept/idea is his and he deserves the royalty for it. Unless the posters are "NLA" and this guy was to give permission for someone to remake it, I certainly wouldn't want to be accused of ripping off his idea. My suggestion to photoshop something together in the spirit of the original one was just to provide a surrogate for a "gone" item, not to rip it off. As such, I ain't touching this one.

I do not want to send anyone to another site other than Wayne"s Pelican Parts. But this site "www.parc.de" has a lot of posters and print material. I did a quick look did not see "Save The Whales"

I'm a loser, baby.

No, it couldn't be?
Funny thing though, the first time I heard that quote 'Save the whales" regarding Porsches was sitting at an intersection and this guy standing on the corner (I think he was homeless) yelled "Save the Whales!" At first I was like "huh?" but then right away I new what he was saying and yelled back "yeah". Too funny.

Here's a pic of the poster. It's a horrible picture, but maybe you get the idea...

Thanks Mike! I don't think the pic is horrible. I know how hard it is to photograph pictures or posters. Not easy at all.
I can say I've never seen that poster. Very cool though. *IF* they are NLA, pretty much anyone with a tail could take a photo and make one of their own. I'm not saying make one to profit from, just for personal use. Thanks again Mike. Is the artist's name anywhere on the poster?

Here's the other poster I bought from the guy. I had these on the wall of my shop at our last house and they've been in the attic ever since we moved 3.5 years ago, hence the poor condition...
![]() I found these in an old Excellence and I still have all of my old Excellence magazines...maybe I'll dig through them and find the ad.
