Photo - Connector at DME, can I remove cover

In order to access pins on the connector while it is connected to the DME unit, can I remove the cover off the white connector ?

The purpose is to examine with a multimeter if the DME unit is getting correct signals - with harness connected to DME.

Thank you.

PS I did search the Forum and just couldn't seem to find the answer.

Pins are likely too far inserted to get a meter probe in to each one. Just see a bunch of wires.

Yes you can remove it.

There is a small Phillips head screw on the top (curved area). Unscrew that.

Then on the bottom there is a rubber sleeve, likely held with a zip tie, cut the zip tie.

Roll the sleeve down, then slide the white curved portion up. It should slide up pretty easily. It's a two part contraption.

There is a retaining clip that slides into the connector from one side.

Sometimes the retaining clip and rubber seal will fall out.. you want to make sure those stay on during re-installation or the connections will be loose.

Install is the reverse and add a new zip tie to clean things up.

Take pics and post here if you have any other questions
