Which Bilstein Insert for 911 SC
Looking for feedback from those that have used the Bilstein insert for BOGE struts on their early 911.
Which version did you use? My car is predominantly a street car and will see the track (non competitively) maybe three times a year. It's an SC with a widebody conversion and runs stock torsion bars. It currently has Yellow Bilstein with an old part number of F4-P36-0115-H000. The current offerings from Pelican are : 34001127 - B6 Performance 34001158 - B6 Performance - Rally Setting Am I correct to assume that the first one is still stiffer than stock? Has anyone used the Rally Version and how would this compare to the ones currently in my car? Looking at the similarity of the "0115" in the part numbers, does this mean I already have the "Rally" spec bilstein? Reason for changing is I am refreshing all front bushings and joints and these shocks are quite old and likely not performing at their peak. Seems a shame not to replace while it is all apart. Interestingly, looking at the Bilstein website
https://cart.bilsteinus.com/results?yearid=2442468794659184705&makeid=4644774125089588353&modelid=2099219932620548877&submodelid=8541894524711360873&filter=8203496057459982531|3047259929053105664 The description they give for both models is encouraging me to lean toward the 34001158. ![]() ![]() But how to specify that I want the version that suits : inner threaded Strut Tube?

I believe you want the 34001127 - B6 Performance which appears to be similar to the old HD version.

For my taste the "sporty road" damper setup is way too stiff/hard for normal street use and sometimes inspirated driving, even on the track. I've been advised to change the rear damper from sporty road to clubsport, they're slightly stiffer than series, but still comfortable enough for normal street use. Not mounted yet - ashamed on me. To get better cornering bigger sway bars are the better solution. So you can use the thicker 21&22mm Carrera sway bars up to 1986 (then the G50 came with another rear sway bar construction). Order together with the proper sway bar mountings. And don't forget to either install the enforced sway bar mounting brackets on the rear or to strengthen the old ones by welding an additional plate in them, the normal ones will break with the thicker sway bar sooner or later...
According Alois Ruf, the owner of the RUF sports car company, the Clubsport setup is one out of two setups driven and developed by Stefan Roser, the "white socks driver" who drove the Ruf CTR "Yellowbird" on the Nürburgring in that famous video long time ago...the other setup unfortunately is also unknown to me...
