Backdate project finally finished
After 10 years or so the project is finally on the road. An ‘86 Turbo I got hold of without an engine. Backdated using all my favourite parts of air cooled cars over the years. Lights and engine lid from the ‘67 R, arches and bumpers from the ‘73 RSR, interior from the RS Carrera Lightweight, 3.6 Varioram from a ‘96 993 mated to a G50 with a lightweight flywheel. All the running gear and brakes are from the original ‘86 Turbo. Still lots of little finishing bits to do and already thinking about phase 2, but it’s now on the road again…at last.

Very cool!
I’m bias, it the v-ram engines in the old cars really nail that sweet spot of reliability, streetability and performance. Great build.

Very nice. What's the color? It looks White but almost has a light green hue to it.

Impressive. More than the car is the 10 years of dedication. More than impressive.

Thank you guys. A bit of finishing to do but it’s just about there. Now time - at last - to play with it.

Congrats. Looks great.
Did you replace the steering column with a 69-73 unit ? That’s always such a dead give away on most backdates.
