40 pi intake manifold
My 40pi carburetors are being rebuilt and I'm told I am missing a part. I'm attaching a photo of a complete intake manifold. The part I'm missing is the silver rod or tube that extends out from the left manifold. I've looked at exploded diagrams of the intake manifold and this part does not seem to be named or identified. As I don't have the carbs here, I can't tell if this part is pressed or threaded into the manifold. Any information on this would be great.

That's a pivot point for part of the throttle linkage. The PMO manifolds also have this. You might be able to use on of theirs.

8mm diameter rod, pressed into the boss. Any machine shop can replicate. The distance between retaining ring grooves is for the bell crank with washers on each end. Total length is something I do not know but the rod could be made purposely long and then the manifolds with throttle cross bar could be assembled on the bench to allow aligning the long link from the crossbar to the bell crank to see how long to cut the rod.
Alternately, you could use the diameter of the rod to scale the length based upon the photo. PMO bell crank rods are 5/16" diameter.

Thank you for both responses. PMO does sell the bell crank shaft as a separate part. Authorized dealer locally (so cal) is 356 Devotion.

Interesting note about the diameter difference. 5/16 is .3125, 8 mm is .3150, .0025" larger. That's enough to make a difference in ability to press fit, and possibly for bushings of the pivot to fit correctly. As suggested, a machine shop could easily modify it.
