Sportomatic 911T 2.2L engine differences
Does a type 911/06 engine (as designated for Sportomatic cars, pictured) differ mechanically from the regular 911/03 engine in manual 911Ts?

From looking through the PET, aside from the designation the main mechanical parts, case, heads, cams, etc. seem to be the same. The only differences I see are a few adapter and sender differences.

Before anyone chimes in, 911/06 is the designation for ROW 2.2T Sportomatic engines; 911/08 is the designation for US/Canada 2.2T Sportomatic engines.

From my memory and from chatting with another experienced 911 enthusiast this weekend, our rough consensus was that: (1) the Sportomatic and regular engines were essentially identical mechanically, and (2) the same can be said for the US/Canada 911/08 2.2 engines and ROW 911/06 engines like I have on hand. The latter pair only differ in terms of bolt-on emission components. If anyone knows differently, please let me know, thanks!
