Airbox strap too short
I had a backfire on my 1977 911S that fortunately the pop off valve did its job, but it broke the airbox straps. I ordered through our host the Porsche 930-110-365-00 and tried to install them. As seen in the pictures, it was short, no matter how much i pulled to stretch the strap, i could not reach the tie point.
![]() Measuring the new strap alongside the old, the length difference is significant as can be appreciated on the photo. ![]() At the end i found a temporary solution while I figure out if I need a different strap |

there use to be 2 different types-lengthwise..early 911s up to 77 had the longer strap after on 911SC it was shorter...but nowaday who know who makes them ,it is possible they made a copy from the earlier type..?

I ordered one from Pelican a while back for a 2.7 airbox, I can’t find the receipt at the moment but it was the part number with the 911- prefix as seen on the PET, and measures about 13-1/2” .

Thank you Pmax, proporsche and EC900 for the information - I was not aware that there existed two different straps with different lengths. Next time I will be more careful before i click the Buy button on Pelicanparts
