Where can I get this valve?
My Ambient Air Valve on my 85 Carrera recently went into the Kazoo mode. The AAR valve is the black thing in the top left of the photo. I searched the archives and the real solution was replace the valve. Of course that means an upgrade to the new style and that meant a new bracket as well.
Here is the original AAR valve and one way valve. The red arrow points to the one way valve. ![]() I figured "while I was in there" I would replace the short bent hose from the one way valve. I wanted to replace the one way valve that looks just like a standard PCV valve on most other cars. The valve is unavailable from Pelican or Porsche. I can't find one at all. The real purpose of this post is does anyone know of a replacement for the valve? It was obvoius to me it had never been serviced or replaced until now. Here are two photos of the valve and the rubber hose it fits into. ![]() ![]() I figure after 25 years it can't hurt to replace it. The check valve I want is part number 930-207-243-01-OEM .

I am seeing the part as 930-207-229-00-OEM, which is also NLA.
Your PN came up as just the sleeve it sits in, or did I goof? Think a dealer would have some left over stock? "...Kazoo mode..." (that made he chuckle)

I asked my dealer, they did a search of the other dealers and even Germany. They came up empty.
Kazoo mode is what it sounds like. I got a LOT of smoke when the engine was cold in that mode. Once the engine was warm, the smoke went away. Pelican has it on this page: http://www.pelicanparts.com/cgi-bin/smart/more_info.cgi?pn=930-207-229-00-OEM&catalog_description=Check%20Valve%2C%20%20%39%31%3 1%20Carrera%20%28%31%39%38%34%2D%38%39%29%20 Part number 930 207 229 00 OEM

It looks like a pcv valve. Maybe find one at the auto parts store that has the same dimensions?

The US SC's had this one:
https://www.pelicanparts.com/More_Info/93010728900.htm?pn=930-107-289-00-OEM Don't know if this will work on a Carrera...it's a throttle, no valve which enclose the connection... Thomas

The purpose of the ambient air valve is to prevent freezing of the throttle body during cold weather starts. The part in question is a check valve to keep air flow to the ambient air valve in one direction. As I stated previously, I believe it is nothing more than a PCV valve and could be replaced by a new one of similar dimensions.
The part shown in the above link is a restrictor to maintain a certain vacuum in the later CIS intake when the oil cap was removed with the engine running. It would not prevent a reverse air flow. It was not needed in early CIS like my '73.5.

A while back someone else had this same question:
https://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsche-911-technical-forum/614095-pcv-3-2-does-she-need-teminate-how.html Dunno if this AutoZone valve is the right size, but looks close: https://www.autozone.com/emission-control-and-exhaust/performance-pcv-valve/p/spectre-pcv-valve-for-breather/266133_0_0 If you get it, let us know if it works.
