72E MSD install

I finally had to install my MSD as the old Bosch CDI seems to have died, in fact I feel lucky to have made in home from a recent 450 mile trip. It ended up running on about three cylinders. Anyway, put the MSD in with an MSD coil and she runs great. Even smells different!.

The main reason I posted this was to say that my car (72E) did NOT need the tach adapter everyone talks about. The tach works fine and is rock steady. I think the concensus has been that those early cars in which the tach signal comes off the distributor don't need the adapter, and my case supports that idea. As others have, I used the power supply from the rear fuse panel as well. And I also still just have the points in there as a trigger. Its a very simple conversion, although I have to finish fabricating the permanet mounting bracket, Darned that fuel system junk!

Anyway, Just a supportive repost of old info for any newbie's that have questions about this conversion.

Cheers
