Help me identify these wires
Removed the fresh air ventilation system from my 1971 911 T Targa to replace the blower motor and refurbish the windshield washer system. Once removed I found a solid white wire with a spade connector as well as a white wire with lime green stripes that had been wrapped in electrical tape.
Does anyone have any experience with these wires? I'd like to solve this mystery and make any repairs needed before reinstalling the ventilation system. ![]() A quick glance at the wiring diagram for 1971 shows the following uses: LIGHTING SYSTEM Solid White Wire High/Low beam steering wheel stalk switch > "Headlight flasher changeover relay" > Fuses 1 and 2 (bridged) > Headlights White Wire with Lime Green Stripe Light switch > "Headlight flasher changeover relay" > Speedometer (indicator light for Park Lamps) Fog Lights: The white wire with lime green stripes was also used as part of the fog light wiring. My car does not have fog lights. Not sure if Porsche used 1 harness for all cars or of they were customized. My high/low beams work fine and my park light indicator in the speedometer works too. VENTILATION SYSTEM White Wire with Lime Green Stripe Ventilation top lever: Fan Speed 1 > Fan motor (4 pole plug) Solid White Wire Ventilation top lever: Fan Speed 3 > Fan motor (4 pole plug)

White/green is for rear fog lamp.
White wire from 6 pin connector is for the Webasto heater system. Ignore both.
