Today I rolled my front fenders. I plan on running a flush fitment when lowered and wanted to “pinch” up the inner lip that sticks out flat. Fender roller, heat gun, and a patient hand did quick work after a couple hours. heres a before and after

Some progress on the front end: 16x8 951 Fuchs, new tires, 22mm tb and reindexed lower. Still working on my final height/fitment but it’s a good starting point

Couple updates. I got some 16x9 for the rear. Removed front valence as I’ll be updated to 84+. I filled the license plate holes and fitted the chin lip prior to paint. It needed the holes drilled. Also installed new headlight washers as mine was cracked.

What sized Bridgestones did you put on the 16x9 rears? that looks like a 225 stretched out

nospiners 03-07-2025 10:43 PM

Great job on the valance , like the US bumperettes , that SC front look with the fogs sticking out is an eyesore .. Subtle but beautifull upgrades !!!

Beautiful coupe. How did you find it?

Yes they have a slight stretch which is what I wanted for my eventual fitment. They are actually 195/50 but these tires run very wide so it does fit similar to a 225.

Thanks! Yea I really don’t like those old fogs, they aren’t subtle lol. The 84+ was a major aesthetic improvement.

Did some work on the interior. Removed my door panels to install new speakers. I also updated grills to the circle style. I didn’t like how you could see the indent of the original square grills, so I made a “spacer” that widens the diameter just enough. The plastic I sourced is the exact texture and sheen so it looks factory.
Lastly, I re-dyed my leather, and conditioned everything to really bring it back to life.

You car is an eerie twin to my cabrio. Color inside and out, sport seats, etc.

195/50 will be MUCH too short.

I think the OP is planning on slamming the car. Take a look at the picture of his 944, very low with negative camber.

While it won’t be as low as my 944, it will be lower than euro height. The tires fill the wheel well nicely and aren’t too small for my fitment needs. They are actually more meaty than what I usually run haha

@jwolfe

I'm sure it will look great and give the car a more modern stance, but how does it affect handling?

Some guys on this forum posted problems going below euro height with the adjustment. Can't remember what they were exactly...

Beautiful car!

mooch29 03-15-2025 03:19 PM

Excited to see how this car turns out!

P.S. Looking forward to getting my new to me front lip :P

AutoXer23 03-15-2025 07:51 PM

Nice build... Very minimalist

Beautiful car!

I’m sure comfort/handling will be a little compromised, but I’m doing everything I can to counter act it - raised spindles, bump steer kit, turbo tie rods, b8 Bilstein. It should handle just fine for casual cruising.

Made some progress on the front end. New valence was prepped and painted. Lip installed, and new fog light lenses mocked up to see it all together 😎
Also painted my very chipped side mirrors.

I like this thread and respect what you’re doing to achieve a nice, low(er) ride height!
Q: What are you using to spray final color? Custom, mixed spray can or something different?
Thx, Patrick

I used Automotive Touchup color match aerosol cans and 2k clear coat. Works like a charm!

More progress today. Was able to reassemble the 84+ lower valence, new fogs and lower chin lip. Really excited to see it all coming back together.

Started to clean my wheel wells , I imagine this is decades worth of grime. Pretty satisfying before/after. I’ll give it a second pass to really get it clean.

Looks great. I started with the wheel wells and ended up cleaning above the steering rack & under the pan. Slippery slope stuff...! Yours is very tasty.
