30 to 3.2 SS CIS

In the process of assembling Motorsport P&C
For CIS. Need to confirm the orientation of the piston. Attached is a pic of cylinder 6, the high part of the dome is toward the flywheel while 1-3 is toward the pulley. Is this the proper orientation of the pistons? Thanks,
Rusty
Maybe a photo uploaded

I don't see a photo. The dome goes away from the spark plug.

CIS Piston Orientation Guide…….

Rusty,

This is how I remember the correct CIS piston orientation. Looking directly at the top of the cylinder/s, close your left fist (this represents the high spot on the piston) and point out your right fore finger (this represents spark plug direction towards the low spot) You must be facing the top of the cylinders when you do this inspection.

Left hand make a fist (high spot) and right hand point your fore finger out. Hope this helps you.

Tony

Thanks guys, I think I got it right on 1-3 and had to turn the pistons so the high part of the dome faced the pulley. For whatever reason my photos wouldn’t upload.
Happy 4th!

What mods are you making to the CIS? Different fuel distributor?

Thanks!

Mark

Not the best photos but I believe what is being said the low part of the dome should go under the spark plug.
Will post a picture of the piston alone tomorrow afternoon
Thanks and hope everyone had a great 4rh.

Just wondering if you snapped pics of the final correct orientation for this Mahle kit?
I am nearing this stage and I would love to confirm orientation.

Thanks for the time
Chris

Chris I’ll take a few picture Monday. Just starting another rebuild with the 3.2SS and post them.
