Koni is guaranteed for life. Should not cost you for another. Time and effort is another thing.

Just replaced my 1 year old ones that were leaking also. One thing that will kill them is if they bottom out. I had lowered my car to far and the shop cut the rubber bumpers too far back, allowing them to bottom. Koni will not replace them for this. They will rebuild them for $140 ea, but close to the cost of new ones...

I had 2 new Konis go bad on me inside a few months. They lost the gas charge.

They did replace them under warranty, but not until after they went back to the factory for inspection and approval for warranty replacement. I had to buy new shocks to keep the car on the road. It took about 2 months! to get warranty approval and my purchase price refunded.

Now I use Bilstein.

I just replaced my Boge's. I've been thinking and researching some time, reviewed new Boge's and Koni's but reading this thread and reading many of the articles on this bbs I'm more and more confirmed I did the right thing by getting new Bilstein's for my car. You might also opt for this...

So far I am not too impressed with the Koni "lifetime waranty". I drive my car every day, so being without it while they decide if the leak is a warranty issue or not kinda sucks. Should have bought Bilsteins!! Chuck, I think I am going to have to buy another strut insert like you did but that sucks because I just bought 2 fronts and 2 rears a short while ago!! Oh well.
