Window frame rivet
Hi guys,
At the moment, I'm restoring the window frames of my 1973 911T. I had to remove all the steel parts prior to anodizing, and now I'm trying to put everything back together again. The main question I have is: what kind of rivet do I need to use to secure the steel bracket to the frame? Can I use a regular aluminum pop rivet, or is there a special rivet I need? Kind regards, D@vid

I don't know for sure what rivets were original, but that looks like steel. I would not use an aluminum pop rivet. I doubt it will be strong enough. How about using a nut and bolt of the correct size?

*Warning:* Ignorant thought from 1987 Targa owner!
Would they use the copper rivets from the Targa wing window cap? PN: 900.056.003.20 ![]() |

Thanks guys, I will explore both options. However I don't really know what tools I need for the copper rivets. Also copper may not be strong enough.
Kind regards, David
