help identify these seats?
I emptied out a storage unit and found a pair of forgotten seats. I think they came out of either an '81 or '83 SC about 20 years ago. Maybe???
I've been out of the street car stuff for a very long time now... Can anyone tell me what they are? Are they just "Sport" seats? And/or what they might be worth? Thanks! Skip ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

They look like sport seats to me. Value depends of course on the buyers want. They look to be in nice shape, I'd need to recover them as I do not want black.

Looks just like the sport seats in my ‘83 SC… just in a lot better condition. I’m not sure what the going rate is but I’m looking to pull the trigger on new leather seat covers and installation, that’s gonna run me at least $2,500.

Oh, man, these aren't really worth much now adays... I'll swing by and trade you lunch for them. But really, what gems to forget about for 20 years. You could probably get $4k+ for them? BAT prices range from 2,500-8k.

I have those in my '84, optional sports seats made by Recaro. They were used on early 930's and SC's, and I think only '84 3.2's. If yours are in excellent shape I'd be interested in buying them and can drive over from Houston to pick them up. PM me please!

I have these seats in my car and I love them.
From my research they are 81 to 84 seats see pic ![]() |

I can confirm this. I have them in my '84, and they are very comfortable. They also allow you to sit much lower (perhaps an inch or so?) than the standard seats. Nice score!!

Thanks everyone!!!
How much discount should I give due to this tear on driver's side? The passenger side is very good. ![]() ![]() ![]()

I bought a set of 84, 944 sport seats for $900, then paid Classic 9, $1700 for a set of champaign, perforated German leather. $400 for local installation.
They recommended using "French seams", to avoid getting pinched by the welting when it cracks. Very comfortable. |

Agree on the French seams being preferable to the welting/piping on the originals. I had Tony Garcia restore my 74-79 sport seats, and followed his recommendation on using the French seams. Especially with leather, the welting is not durable (or comfortable) and begins to show wear very quickly.
All you “originalists” can weigh in now… |
