2.4E engine mods

OK, since were on the topic of 2.4s, I have a '72 2.4E that I want to pump up, ideas? Right now it is bone stock, and hasn't ran in 9 years! It was running fine when parked.
Also I think someone said they knew of a place to get the MFI pump overhauled? Im sure it will need it after this long.

mfi

If you increase the size of the motor and are going to use the same MFI setup, you need to have the pump recalibrated to that size of motor. Gus @ Pacific Fuel Injection does that, 650-588-8880.....

If it's a strong case the best bet seems to be a 2.7RS spec engine. Hans at H&R fuel injection in NY can recalibrate MFI pumps as well.

Its been over 10 years sinced Ive messed with anything below the 3.0 metal. Whats involved with 2.7RS spec, and what kind of HP? Or anything else? What will S cams or just head work produce? I guess Im looking for the best ratio between HP and cost, (arent we all!) In other words, I would rather get 25 HP for $1,000 than 50HP for $5,000.
Thanks.

Snake,
Depending on which cylinders you have, you can pick up a set of S pistons from JE for $1k, have your heads ported and polished for another $1k, and buy a set of S cams from WebCam for $500. That leaves you with $2,500 to have your MFI recalibrated and top end rebuild labor. You would have at least 190hp when its over - possibly a little more which is what an 2.4S delivers - not to mention a screaming 7,200 redline instead of 6,800...

It costs @1K to have the MFI recalibrated, so it seems to me I could sell my 2.4E for $1,500.00 or so, buy a 3.2 for $5K and have 220HP in a lighter car. HHHmmm...

Or even better, put the 2.4 in the 914 and make a great track car out of it.
