Question about rebuilding/refreshing your own 915 trans
What can you accomplish on the 915 trans without possessing Porsche specialty tools?
I haven’t opened the case yet, but I’d like to know whether I will be able to at least disassemble, clean and inspect/check most dimensions. Any input appreciated.

Although, I would buy the special tools (especially the syncro tools) and then resell them to get some of your money back. You can use your house and an old clutch plate as a holding tool, that's free. With the tools, it's so much easier, safer, faster and more pleasant.

I'm interested in making the holding tool made from a clutch you are talking about... do you have any pics of it?
