Thoughts on this carb jetting configuration
3.2L short stroke
9.8:1 CR 98mm P&Cs Early SC Heads - single plug Elgin S cams (similar to GE60s) Electromotive HPX ignition 1 5/8" Headers and Sport Exhaust Weber 46 IDA carbs 38mm Venturi 60 Idle jets 160 Main Jets F7 Emulsion tubes 160 Air correction How does the carb configuration sound?

Those venturis are sized for a power peak at almost 6900 rpm ... sounds a bit high for GE-60 cams!

The Elgin Modified S Cams (similar to GE60) should produce peak HP between 6800 and 6900 RPM. So shouldn't this be right?

Is this a race engine? If not, the fundamental problem is the big carbs. Go with 40's for street use.

Big problem with that chart is that it is, or seems to be, for a 2.0 engine [6800 rpm power peak for 'S' cams -- only valid for the '69 production engine] ... The power peak with 'S' cams dropped to 6200 rpm for the RS 3.0 engine, and would drop to perhaps 6000 - 6100 rpm in a 3.2 engine! GE-60 and your Elgin grind would see similar drops in a 3.2. I think you ought to go back to Elgin and ask what the power peak rpm should be for your setup. I think 35 mm venturis would be closer to matching your cams.

Both... Street car some... Racing yes...
Based on displacment and cams it's right on the cusp of 40s and 46s... Plus, I already have the 46s.
