can someone identify this part please....

It's Part number 911.624.151.03



Do i really need this becasue the wires on the back weren't connected so i took it out.

Trying to make her light as possible.

That is your auxiliary heater blower. It turns on when you pull up your heater levers to force more hot air into the car. I think it arrived sometime in the mid '70's.

You can leave it off but you'll need to replace it with something to keep the heat connected. Lots of folks here have deleted it, do a search under "heater backdate" in the archives.

OK thanks for the quick reply.

Another quick question the black hose connects to a hole next to the fan can i just plug it up. Becasue I never use the heat.

I taped over the hole with several layers of duct tape and then used the worm drive clamp to hold the duct tape in place. Seems fine so far. A better solution is to buy the block plate that our host sells to permanently seal off the fan.
