3.6 conversion flywheel questions

Does anyone have a good pick of a 3.6 L conversion flywheel?

I am trying to diagnose a running issue and want to make sure i have the corect flywheel. If found this pic on the net of a 964 flywheel

This seems to agree with the drawing of a 964 flywheel I have in the service manual

You can see that the small hole for the dowel pin on the crank in both instances is approx. 9 teeth behind the gap in the teeth (in a clockwise direction).

However on my flywheel it appears that the pin is approx 9 teeth ahead of the gap in the teeth (gap at approx 11 o'clock) again in a clockwise direction.

I would like to see some pics of peoples conversion flywheels to make sure I am not barking up the wrong tree here. This is a '90 964 engine not a 993 motor if that matters.

Thanks
Todd

tholyoak,

I think you are looking at the illustration and photo backwards.
It illustrates the gap in the 60 tooth pattern in the same place as your photo of your flywheel.
I understand there are two sensor positions / brackets, you might have the wrong combination of bracket and sensor position if you are suspicious of a flywheel error?

Regards

Hayden

Ahead or behind depends on which side of the flywheel you are looking at.

Both the top photo and the illustration are showing the crankshaft side of the flywheel.
Assume the view from the clutch side and they all match.
