front spindle cap

Tring to adjust the front wheel bearing and can't seem to get the bearing cap to budge. Do they just push on like most other cars or do the screw on. I generally just use a Channel lock and wobble them off.

If that does not work, use a piece of 2x2 about 8" long. Get the edge of the 2x2 under the *lip* of the cap and angle it to the inside of the wheel well at about the 4:00 position. Use a hammer and tap on the 2x2. Rotate the rotor 180 degrees and repeat. I use this method all the time and works great. Is that clear??? Have fun!

The muffler clamp didn't work at all. Finally went and got a very large set of channel locks. I had lost mine someplace. This worked to rock the cover off. Had to get a good grip then smack the top the channel lock with a hammer. Now that they are broke loose the 2X2 method would probably work great and wouldn't damage the cap. Thanks for the answer. The search works OK and I did find some suggestions but you can spend all day reading through threads till you find what you want.
