Fender Alignment HELP Needed

I don't understand how to adjust the front fender to achieve an even gap between the trailing edge of the fender and the leading edge of the door. The door alignment is adjusted perfectly, so that's not it. It seems that the fore and aft movement of the fender is fixed in this area since the fender is screwed to the "wing" that comes out from the body. I've been told that using fender shims is the solution to adjusting this gap, but I'm doubtful...this would defeat the purpose of the sealing putty strip that goes in this area by creating a space, and Porsche parts doesn't show fender shims as a part anyway.

Basically, the fender/door gap at the top is good but it's too small towards the bottom. I could sure use some help on how to get an even gap. Thanks in advance.

First, the door gap is dictated by the rocker and quarter gaps. These will remain unless you want to to paintwork! Make certain these gaps are good and move on to the bolted fender. I have found washers inserted between the fender and the attachment plate, with sealing compound. The washer will give the fender just a bit of boost.

Thanks for the input, Damon. I was hoping to not have to shim the fender to get an even gap with the door, but that may be the solution. It's only off by a little, top-to-bottom, but it wasn't that way before I took it apart and I want it to be even. I guess my biggest concern about shimming it is that it crates a gap between the fender and attachment plate...not an area that you want moisture to get into (which is why the sealing strip goes in there. Anyone else with a different solution or technique for aligning the door'fender gap?
