Question Cruise control not stable (smooth)

Anyone use their cruise control? I tried mine and noticed that is seems to vary, like if it's set for 65 it can go 60 and then up again. The throttle or engine is always going up and down. It's never right on. It's annoying to feel the car accelerate and slow down when it's set.

What can it be???
Is there a possible vacuum leak or WTF.

se

I've read this is tied a vacuum leak...try a search for cruise and vacuum. I think the problem is with the vac tube that hooks up to the unit in the engine bay.

There was a long thread on this back in June, but no conclusion was reached. I seem to have an even worse version of this problem as when I set mine, the CC immediately accelerates about 10mph over the speed I set, then begins to fluctuate. Not good for avoiding tickets, which is why I use it. Help would be greatly appreciated! The first step I want to take in diagnosing this is to substitute the control unit from a working system ... any local volunteers?
