The widest tires I can put on 15" Fuchs
Don't start flaming--I did a lengthy search.
It is tire time. I want to put the widest tires possible on my 7/8 X15 Fuchs. I have: Front: 205/55-15 Rear: 225/60-15 What is the widest tire I can put on without it looking stupid or needing modification? I found some BF Goodrich 245/60-15 (rear) and 225/60-15 for the front at Tire Rack. Still looking for additional options. If those don't work, perhaps I will be stuck with the Yokohama AVS ES100 everyone seems to like, but they only go to 225 for 15's. Perhaps those with a small spacer? Pictures are always appreciated by someone who has actually done it and lived to tell about it.

What tires do you have now? I've been looking for those sizes, so far without success.

Pirelli P6000 on the front, Bridgestone Turanza on the back. They came with the car. I hate mismatched tires, but they were in good shape, so I have left them on.

You may want to carefully measure the clearances you have with your current tires. Then, play around a bit here:

Paul, when you went with the smaller tires did your seat of the pants dyno notice a increase in low end torque?

Alan, I did notice a bit, but I also had set my timing after a tune up. The car absolutely hauls butt. Next week I get to change my front wheel bearings, passengerside is getting pretty loud, especially around right turns.

Anyone have a shot from the rear or back. My biggest concern is filling out the wheel well to the max.

I've been running 225/50ZR15 on the back of mine. They need replacing for next season. I've been searching and I think the time is due to upgrade to 17". Good 15" selection is getting harder and harder to find.

I was trying to track down those Dunlops about a month ago & everyone (including Tire Rack) said they were on back order & the factory didn't know when they were going to make a new batch.

widest tire
On an 8 inch width rim you can fit a 255 series tire. That is the
widest you can go safely. The problem is finding a 15 inch tire in those specs. Not many tire companies are making tires for 15 inch rims. 76 911S 66 912 V8 66 912 2.2 WITH NITROUS |
