Question Drill holes into 3.2 Airbox - any pattern?

Most people seem to agree that drilling holes, while probably not improving engine performance, will still make deeper induction noise.

Guess you need to leave enough of the air box 'lid' to still hold the filter firmly in place.

THe Porsche sports and Fabspeed air box lids seem to go for the most open cut - i.e. removing virtually all the face of the air box.

If you go for holes instead - will the air box resonate etc. to give 'better' sound?

Experimented with complete air box removal and fitted a cone filter - and don't like the continuous air intake hiss, and noticed no deeper sound!

Does it make any difference to the sound volume / deepness depending on the size / shape / or pattern of holes you drill??

I drilled mine similar to the one in Rick's link after I lost my snorkle and it sounds good.
