BBS Wheel guru's...need your help!!!
OK if you're really a guru, then it should be easy to tell me where I can find different used offset wheel halves for a set of 17" LM's. I've done the web searches and found a shop in N.C., but their lack of response to phone and e-mail was frustrating. Thx for the help. Jim

I've tried hard to find good wheel halves with no success. You can buy 5052 Aluminum halves all day long but it's really too soft for street wheels. I talked to and begged Fikse to sell me 6061-T6 Aluminum halves and they refused.
I'm an engineer at a machine shop and I'd love to design and machine my own centers and bolt on pre-made wheel halves if anyone has a source.

I'm not sure if this will help you, but the VW crowd is into putting together custom width and offset BBS wheels, mostly 15inch though. Below is a link to a FAQ discussion on where to get BBS rim pieces, hope it helps.

I just got off the phone with Darrell from Kodiak. They do make 6061 aluminum halves. He gave me a price of $177.41 for a 17x4 polished outer half and $131.79 for 17x6 unpolished inner half. These were just two sizes off the top of my head, I don't know what I'd really need for the rear wheels. I guess it's time to fire up Mechanical Desktop and ALGOR FEA software and start designing some wheels!
