Sonic,
Remove the good switch and use it to replace the bad one just to get the window up and you can get a new one. ![]() Edit, Sorry just reread your post and you already tried this. ![]() Last edited by Bob's Flat-Six; 10-18-2003 at 09:07 PM.. |

I may be wrong however in my 82sc all window switches must be hooked up for them to work I replaced the pas side switch got it from PP it did not have the same texture as the others but only after pluging all switches in did they work properly. Now the pp pas side switch has come apart internaly and is very finicy when attempting to roll windows up or down . Try replacing the bad switch and having all wires pluged in to see if that helps. Good Luck Speedy1

Correct - you have two bad switches on the passenger window circuit.
Need to replace them both to get a working window AFJuvat

Absolutely correct if one of the switch`s that operate the pass side(on either door) is not good you would have an open circuit which will cause it not to work from either switch. Kinda like the old days when the driver farts and the passenger cant open the window because the driver (while laughing of course)is holding the switch up while the passenger holds his down. The window stays put where it is.

Thanks fellas. Good description AF. That sounds like the issue here. What a time for 2 window switches to go bad at the same time. ![]() Kurt, Im not sure I get the "fart analogy"....but thanks for trying. ![]() |

The driver side / passenger window switch on my SC failed about 2 years ago so I promptly replaced it with a new one. Since then, I have had to replace the driver side/ pass. switch two more times because the pivot pins break. The next time it happens, I am going to try to find a used switch out of an older car as I believe they are better quality switches.
