But do all votes carry equal weight?

Over-engineering. It's the search feature that needs work.

Jeez, I looked up "Tyson," and found something about Nostatic cooking Thanksgiving dinner on his heat exchangers.

Oh, since I don't speak German, I'll contribute this:

"Well good evenin.' Don't that sun look good goin' down?"

FWIW, I think a subforum on engine conversions would be great. There isn't much information about engine swaps available...having a forum devoted to 911 hot rod projects would be helpful.

Oooooo...I'd like to moderate that.

I have to disagree with you there. The Australia/New Zealand forum gets a fair amount of traffic.

Wayne,

How about getting rid of the following forums:

http://forums.pelicanparts.com/pelican-technical-articles-discussion/

http://forums.pelicanparts.com/shelby-automobiles/ (why on earth is that one here anyway?!?)

http://forums.pelicanparts.com/great-plains-rocky-mountains-us-co-ia-ks-mo-mt-nd-ne-sd-wy/

http://forums.pelicanparts.com/old-bmw-general-discussion-2/

http://www.pelicanparts.com/cgi-bin/classifieds/classifieds.cgi

http://forums.pelicanparts.com/classic-porsche-literature/

http://forums.pelicanparts.com/pelican-motorcity-discussion-forum/

Quite a few of the forums seem to be duplicates...2 detailing forums, a lot of for sale forums, etc.

Also, how about making the main 911 BBS page simply show more threads per page?

I vote NO!! I have never visited the other forums. I like the broad subject matter in the open forum. If its not interesting to me I wont read it, but its my chioce and everything is right in front of me. It will take more time to go searching other forums. You cant say, oh I dont want to look at suspension topics today, or I only want to look at suspension topics only, everybody is going to be switching back and forth anyway.

I don't understand the regional forums either. At first I liked the idea, but now, it seems (at least for SoCal), it rarely gets used.

Our Mulholland Hwy run was posted on the regular Tech forum, and received over 1,200 hits. I bet if it were moved to the regional forum, not nearly as many people would have heard about it.

Charlie... I almost peed in my pants with that one!!

My vote is this... I liken this forum to a small group of guys hanging out at a shop. A couple have a beer in their hand, a couple are drinking coffee, and we're all talkin' shop. The conversation at times can be very, very technical, and at other times we're laughing about how our big butts don't fit in those new SRD's. If there were 6-8 of us yapping, and then we split up as the topics varied, we'd all get bored and go home.

There may indeed be some fine-tuning that could be done, but a revamp and division may send us all off on our separate ways.

my 2 euro cents.

Wayne I feel exactly the same way. While experts may have the "correct" answer to a problem, many times others may have a more creative answer or get the creative juices flowing.

The 'chad' entered the American lexicon in the wake of G.W. Bush's controversial election victory in Florida. A paper punch-ballot was used in many districts, and there were inconsistencies in how votes were counted -- sometimes relating to whether the paper section of the ballot that the punch was supposed to push out (the chad) was still connected or not.

"chad" entered the English dictionary in 1890, as an inland country established as a French colony in north central Africa, bordering the north of Libya.

Your version hasn't made it across the pond yet Jack!

Anyway... I agree with Wayne, the new forums sound like an excellent idea as long as they're visible on the main BBS homepage for easy navigation
