Did you miss the 1972RSR...
Or did I miss the post about Jack Olsen's car in the December 2003 issue of Excellence. There's an article about the Carrera GT in this issue, but as I reached page 3 of the magazine, I see the black 911 with huge fuchs. Hmmm, do I read about the Carrera GT or the black 911? Easy choice.
Congrats Mr. Olsen. That's a fabulous car. The black looks incredible, even if it is a pain to keep clean. The rear end looks so menacing. This car has drag racer performance with sports car handling, and sexy looks to boot. There are few Porsches better than this beauty.regards, Jürgen |

You already got the December issue? Does that mean it's at the newsstand then?
Gotta go!

Cool!
I'm a subscriber, and I live out west, so it's a safe bet I won't get to see the article for about another 5 weeks. ![]() If the car's looking good in the pictures, it's a tribute to Pelicanite Mr9146's skills with a camera.

Well, I know Jack and can say that this is w/o question a bigger event in his life than being in GQ or winning the Golden Globe last year for "Best Un-produced Screenwriter".
Congratulations, Jack! Nice B.day present, and that is probably about when we will see it out here.

Whew! Denis, I'm glad you didn't say it was a bigger event than his wedding day...
Seriously...having your car in EXCELLENCE and a dollar or so will buy you a cup of coffee...

As a professional writer, I'm of course sensitive to issues of intellectual property and copyright, and aware of the tremendous damage done when a person takes an article from a magazine, and then scans that article with a desktop scanner, and emails it one page at a time to: jackolsen@comcast.net .
Am I being clear enough about that? I would be shocked, shocked if a Pelicanite were willing to scan the article about my car -- that I haven't seen -- and email it to me at jackolsen@comcast.net . So... no one scan that article and email it to me at jackolsen@comcast.net , okay? It would be wrong, as we'd both be depriving the publisher of the financial proceeds from the copy of the magazine that I've, um, well, I guess I've already paid for. But still. Money issues aside -- it would be wrong. Like exceeding the speed limit -- or taking a 911 up to redline on an open stretch of road. Because I feel so strongly about this issue, I'm only going to say it once. It would take all the surprise and delight away that would come from waiting (for four freaking weeks) while the broken down Excellence truck, or whatever it is, takes the magazines west. I really, really, mean that, guys. No one should scan the article and email it to me at jackolsen@comcast.net .

Congratulations Jack and Tyson!!!
How did the word get out on this most closely held secret! Somebody squealed. Now it's all over the place...except apparently at Jack's house. How about putting a 3.6 in the "Freaking Excellence Truck"! Seriously, would it be too much for the publishers to FEDEX OVERNIGHT a copy of the article to the guys responsible for one of the most unique motorcars on the streets today? Go get 'em Jack!
