Pin out for engine connector
I have a question about the big rectangular multi-wire connector that runs from the engine to the car -- is the pin out the same for a 1986 as for a 1973? I have a 1986 engine that I want to put into my '73 coupe (no electronic brains, etc. it's carburetted now but still uses some of those wires).

Randy,
It doesn't seem very likely that a diagram from an '86 would apply, or be of any use ... What kind of distributor does the engine have on it, and what kind of ignition? Was it actually running before you got the engine? Seems as though you will have to trace the wiring and draw a diagram ... break it down into subsystems: alternator, ignition, starter, gauges, etc.

It's from my '77. Probably o.k. for 72-78.
Also, it's FROM the ENGINE side of the connector not the body side. I doubt it would be indicitive of the engine side of an '86 as Early says.
