I previously posted a message about my 84 won't run. Thanks for the help. Still broke though. Can someone tell me if the engine will run at all (even poorly) with the following disconnected:
1. The AFM 2. The throttle position sensor Also, since my fuel pump is running continuosly when ignition is on and it is not the main relay (the DME is sending a ground signal) could the speed or TDC sensor being faulty cause the DME to think the engine is rotating and energize the main\fuel pump relay? Thanks, Paul |

Pull the DME relay, if the Fuel Pump still runs, then the wiring has been altered.
If the removed DME relay causes the FP to stop, then obviously either the DME relay's contacts are fused together, or there is power to the coil. With the DME relay removed, measure the resistance btwn the power contacts of the relay (should read open).

Paul, the problem could have been caused by a slight mixup when you changed your ignition cables. Not long ago I did mine and was unable to get my engine to start for the next two days. Thought I was very careful but found out later that I swapped two wires...what a fool am I???
