Left turn signal on SOLID...what to test?
Hi,
My left front turn signal, when I turn my lights on, is in the ON position...SOLID. When I activate the left turn signal from inside the car, it works in the rear, and the dash indicator sort of blinks bright on the left arrow, and dim on the right arrow. What should I check/test? *I'm an electrical novice...just got my first multitester on Tuesday.* From the looks of it, I'll be an expert by the time this car is done! mto

Do you know that if you leave your trun signal on and shut down the car, your blinker will stay on SOLID on the side you left the turn signal ?
Isn`t that what you are experiencing ? It is a normal feature of the 911... Aurel

Bad ground connections will make you go batty! While chasing the turn signal circuit and you come upon a ground, even if it "looks" good, take it apart, clean and reconnect securely. Then chck it off the list as done.
The fuse block could probably use some attention as well. There's also the turn signal relay. Good luck.

Yes, they were replaced fairly recently.

Do your horns work normally..with your lights on and off? What about with the left turn signal on/off?

I would take that bet...seems to me that he has lost his headlight ground and it is grounding back through his turn signal light (or he has gotten that wire switched at the back of his headlight only if he has worked on the wiring in that area already). Of course, if that is the case, the relay won't last long either and soon he will lose all turn signals.

Ha! Sorry, don't need those. My reasoning is that the same relay pin out runs all the signals. If one works, they all should and the flasher is good. The flasher is so simple to test, that it is easy to eliminate.
