Center console in early 911?

Hi,

I've got a 72 T that I'd like to put a center console in, with some extra gauges. (And a spot for my iPod, thank you.) Has anyone done an install like this? Where can I get a console that'll work? Post some pics if you have 'em.

Thanks!

mto

It's pretty simple. I've got a battery gauge and a trans temp gauge in mine.

and:

Here's a pic of the console that was put in by the PO. He bought it from the glossy catalog company for $423!! not including all the gauges. It's a 930 center console. No cupholders or compartments but you could easily velcro your ipod onto the side.

Kind of difficult to open the ash tray, isn't it? ;

lol! Yes, I have yet to ever try to open it...I always joke that there's some old IBM stock, or in this area, some confederate dollars in there.

I guess it's a good thing I don't smoke

My picture didn't show up, because the server it's on is down. I don't have the 930S console. I have a stock one that was but in (I think) 75-later 911's. It's very easy to fit.

Here's another picture:

This picture shows my hotlap timer display in place, attached to the ashtray mount. Usually, it's just the ashtray there.

I added a console to my '76 912E (with hidden iPod) and my '74 911 Targa (with a/c vents)
The '74 has a bluetooth head unit, so no need for the iPod. Need to add another couple of a/c vents to provide more cold air flow but I've been happy having the consoles.
