Cis problems?

Well car started to back fire thru intake and lose power. the only things I have done to try and improve drivablity is to turn the mixture screw clock wise. Car was not running perfectly after rebuilding top end. At full power car runs nicely but when driven in traffic the car hesitates to much and now after turning the richness up the car back fires thru intake and has less power. The weather has gotten colder here and I'm wondering if this could have some effect on it also. Any one have any ideas? Could this possibly be a bad WUR and if this could casue the problems how hard is it to replace?

I believe there is no one in the world who can identify your problem from this information. My best advice is to avoid guessing that this or that CIS component is faulty. There is a method for verifying that the ignition system is working properly. That's the first step. Then there is a troubleshooting method for CIS. It essentially begins with a fuel pressure check, so you will need that test equipment. There is no substitute for these proper troubleshooting techniques. Without following them, you will spend WAY too much money.

Having said that, your problem could be a vacuum leak. Perhaps something was not reconnected properly after the overhaul.
