What tool do I use to loosen bolts in Pic. I need to adjust my door. I have tried torx and star tools with no luck. Any help would be appreciated thanks, Sam

You need what is called a triple square wrench. Same style as the CV joint bolts.

But based on the look of them you may need to use a drill bit if they are stripped too bad.

I would start by ordering new bolts, then I would use a dremel to cut a nice slot across the bolt, and finally use a wide-blade srewdriver to remove the old bolts.

It depends on what size you need.
I purchased a triple sqaure for the CV joint bolts at a local VW shop for around $8. I think it was an 8mm.

Have you called pelican to see if they have it? They might surprise you by either having it or being able to get it fast.

I found a set of four (6mm through 12mm) at Autozone. They had an odd name like 'internal wrench' on them.

I had one of these tools that went to my 911 flywheel on back order from a local Snap-On dealer.

After 3 weeks, I called Pelican by phone, and they had one at my door within 3 days for less $$ than Snap-On.

Use an impact screwdriver with a 3/8 drive for your 12 point. The bolts will start out.

Got my 12 pt 8mm (like the picture posted by catca) at Santa Fe Tools on Central, near intersection of Wyoming (Abq. NM))for about $3. They have lots of strange tools. Sorry I didn't see your post or you could have borrowed mine.

They look stripped. You do need that special socket (CV bolt-type) as previously mentioned. If you can use it with a hammer impact driver, you might get lucky.

If no luck with a 12-pt. bit, the right size easy-out (spiral) bit should do the trick (with a 1/2 ratchet or breaker).

Yep, they sell them at many auto parts stores, they have been used on everything from old Pinto's, volkswagons, Chyslers with VW engines (frt drive water cooled), etc....

As said before, they should be called a "triple square".
