cis injector lines

Has anyone converted their CIS injector lines from the plastic to the 81+ steel lines? If so, any tips?

Why do you wish to do this? The steel lines are more difficult to work with. If your plastic lines have become brittle they can be replaced. That style of fuel line is sold by the foot.
To change to the screw in steel lines vs the swaged plastic involves swapping out several parts.

I once asked the same exact question. After some conversation and searching on the site there are some good posts on how to make DIY lines for minimal money. I had a friend who couldnt find the lines anywhere and it took him over a month to get from the dealer.

If and when mine go Ill be making my own.

Actually... it was a look thing... I just want to clean it up a little. Where do you get it by the foot? If I can cut my own lengths, I could hide them anywhere

fuel lines... following jim's advice, this was actually pretty easy, I went with the clear lines so I can see if any dirt is moving down to the injectors. I am sure they will yellow at some point in time though. I pressure tested @ 125psi with no leaks, I will have to grow bigger ones so I can turn up the pressure guage on my compressor to 150psi

Were you able to do the job with standard tools or did you have to buy anything special to connect to the hose to the fittings?

I made the clamps that Jim stated in his post, clamped them in a vise and tapped on with a hammer. very easy. I didn't use the heat shrink tubing, I slipped the smaller line into larger tubing for a protective covering.

I've been wanting to do this mod ever sice I saw the clear lines on this motor. I originally saw the clear lines on it like in 2002 at "The Festival of Speed" and have seen alot of pictures of the car and motor here on the forum.

You do have to watch the bend radius, The lines don't like to bend much.

Its a stainless steel box and was cheaper than the plastic box. I picked it up from Mike at brunsmspts@aol.com I might add it is heavier than the plastic. There were no installation problems either.
