915 number decoding

Hey guys,

Can someone decode the following 915 tranny numbers for me please. I am thinking of purchasing this used tranny off a 83 911 UK car.

Number is: 9153016R Or 915/62 731183

I think the latter number is the correct version.

Thank for your help

If it was a US/Can car my Stoddard catalog would help. But I cant find a 915/62 tran type or ser no 731183 listed. In 83 the trans type for US/CAN was 915/63 and ser nos started with 74D0001. You probably already knew that.

Sorry I couldnt help. But Hey....I tried.

Ok confirmed that it is a euro model tranny

915/62 is made between 79 and 82 for the 3.0L

...now what do the rest of those numbers mean.....
