I will include the embedded software pre-programed in the Megasquirt unit.

The tuning software is freely available for download. It is designed by Eric Fahlgren, and is windows based.

You can download it from here:
http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/megasquirt/files/MegaTune/

Here are a couple of screen shots.

Complete kit finished

The pre-production complete kit is now finshed. Below is a picture of what you get. I decided to include three brackets per fuel rail instead of two. Two where more than enough, but the third one adds a saftey margin. I have one more pre-production kit that will be sold under the pre-production price of $1375US. I took the time to go through my receipts and there were a lot of little costs which I did not account for.

Damn dude, that was quick, you whipped up this kit in no time. And your selling this for less than what most efi controllers cost much less the entire kit. Now maybe you can whip up a turbo kit for both stock exhaust and ssi setups .

So who's gonna step up & do this first? The wife put the kabosh on my spending for the next couple months till I get the M/C paid down. I would love to see a few guys post thier successful installations. I want to do something like this or carbs but have to wait a while.

I already have a "beta" tester for the pre-production kit. The first kit will be shipping within a day or two. I should have feedback on the installation very soon.

For the cars with motronic, everything is already there. All you need is the ECU and main harness.

...and the ability to control ignition/timing??? Anyone see this done?
I'd think it would be for a turbo or race application.

I've been asked if this kit would work with the 930 turbos running CIS. It can be made to work, the thing is I need to have a 930 at my disposal to see what is different and what modification need to be made to the kit.

Anyone in the Ottawa area willing to leave their 930 with me so I can develop a CIS to EFI kit for the turbos? I promise I won't drive it too often

Wow! An employer who would lay off Tony, with his skills, hard work, and tremendous follow through, deserves bancruptcy. Well the 911 community has benefitted from it anyway.

Tony, in keeping with the 'open source' flavor of this project, I think that publishing your installation manual could significantly reduce the fears that many of us have about installing this. It would also give you a big pool of error checkers / copy editors. Just a thought.

I am currently working on an installation guide with color pictures. Once it is available I will be posting it on my web page for people to go over before the decide to take the plung. I really don't think the installation is that hard to do.

Tony,

Since you are a DIY'er, you might want to check out this web site.
http://wbo2.com/

They have a packaged controller for a wide-band lamda sensor and also plans for one you can build yourself. Earlier in this post you mentioned the advantages of real time feedback you get with the wideband sensor. They mention a wideband sensor priced at $28.99. Don't know if this helps or not, but if it does you can add another product offering to your new company.

Thanks. I am aware of this site.

I am currently running the older NTK L1H1 wideband O2 sensor which costed a fortune (relatively speaking) compared to the new LSU unit from Bosch. Note both these sensors still required extra electronics to operate. You cannot just plug a wideband sensor into the MegaSquirt ECU that I'm offering in the kit.

I've downloaded the latest MegaTune (version 2.20) and it allows those running a wideband sensor to have a gauge that reads air fuel ratios directly off the laptop. This is great, cause you can now dial in the AFR you want while tuning. This is some really neat stuff that was only available to the big manufactures not too long ago.

note: I still have one pre-production kit left.

Tony, I came very close to jumping on this kit. If it weren't for the fact that I have a tenative deal in the works with the wife for a 930, I'd be pulling out the checkbook.

But, if I don't get promoted, I'll most likely be ditching the CIS later this year (probably after autox season).
I'd also like to applaud you on an outstanding job!

Re: Complete kit finished

A DVD with a "step by step" would bring it over the top!!!

The only reason I am hesitating is I just rebuilt most of my CIS and I have a morbid desire to keep it working and use my growing knowledge of such a complex, elegant, but quirky system!

I think a fuel and spark solution, which I think you will develop eventually, would force me to go over to EFI, though.

I would want my working CIS system to find a good home, though.

This has been one of the most instresting threads I have ever read .I know that all the work has been done to update CSI 3.0's but I can't help but wonder if this might be a god send to those of us with old MFI systems. Any thoughs on this? Randy
