Updated tensioners, 40mm webers, and stock exhaust are all I could see for sure. My wrench says he is almost positive they put high compression P&Cs in it along with a set of cams when it was rebuilt. Engine type is 930/16, so it probably has the smaller ports. Seller says seat of the pants feel is that it was noticably faster than his stock CIS 3.0. Im trying to contact the guy who spec'ed the motor originally because I need to know what P&Cs/cams are in it. We have decent fuel here right now, but we are being forced to use reformulated gas next year in this area due to poor air quality. If this thing has high comp 95mm or 98mm P&Cs, I may have to either find some race gas to blend or look into twin ignition. I think I got a helluva deal on it, but I'll wait for the news from my wrench before I say so for sure ![]() More later |

Oh man that is my dream motor. If you cant find the gas I will take it off your hands. :-))
You might have the wrench replace the common leaky gaskets?

Yea, that was my thread before. First of all..DO IT. You'll love how the car feels. Mine kicks butt...and I haven't even felt it at *sea level* (I'm a mile high here in CO...so I can expect a 30% HP gain when I roll down the hill...)
Having the carbs instead of the CIS will make it WAAAAAAAY easier than mine...and mine wasn't too bad. I ended up having an aeroquip stainless line fabricated by Dart Auto here in CO for my "under engine hard line". Everything else pretty much connects as you'd expect it to. Just save your oil lines from the motor that came with the 72, and you should be all set. Feel free to PM me if you have any questions I might be able to help with. Have fun!
