Wow, Leland. I'm amazed at how quickly you got that done! Good work! I'm sure you'll get the glass back in and sealed up, as well.

Clayton, the dash pad had been in my custody for under 9 hours before it went in the car.

The original plan was to wait until I have a headliner, carpet and door panels and to do them all at the same time. Only problem with that is,... well you all know how impatient I can be, right?

Leland,
You seem to have things well in hand. Wish I could be there to help though.
While you have everthing apart, it may be worth your time to check the rubber base mount for the flasher relay to make sure that it is fully seated.

Leland,

"Here's the gap I was talking about... no big deal, I guess..."

I did my dash last year, I have the same gap if it makes you feel any better. I believe that’s just how they fit.

Thanks for posting the photos for other Pelicanites looking to do the same.

Oh… the screws on the front side of the dash trim are factory… I believe. When I removed my old dash it had those screws pre-installed.

No problems gary, I really enjoyed the project. I was laying in the trunk working a couple of those bolts thinking to myself "ah, this is the life". I truely love doing stuff like this.

As for those screws, they were factory, although they appeared to be placed at random. They were sort of, I don't know, just where ever the installer decided to put them.

Now that I know how to properly install the windsheild, I'm confidant, I can get it right. I have a helper coming over after work to assist in the install.

Ok, Windsheild is back in. (and correctly too)
Everything looks great. It went a HELL of allot smoother with a helper applying pressure to the glass.

I'll have to wait for warmer weather to check for leaks.

For you guys afraid to do this... don't. It was cake. Much easier than I ever thought it'd be.

In fact, it was so easy, I'm now looking at removing the rear window to replace the weathered seal.

Neat project.

Hi Lee,
I had a box like that .. I think it was an EGR gizmo hooked up to trigger the EGR dash lite.. I can confirm if necessary. I disconnected and put the thing in long term storage....

Let me know if you ever visit the UK - I'm sure I could find you some jobs to make you happy. :-D

Leland, did you use a windshield install kit or just some plain old electrical wire for the seal fitment? You thread has given me a glimmer of hope since I have had a dash sitting in my garage for installation since 3 months before I bought my car two years ago. Perhaps its time to dive in....
