So, what happens when you miswire the distiributor?

Got a new set of plug wires and noticed that the original wires were in the wrong sequence...perhaps i have been breathing too much fumes.

Please remember that different years have different firing sequences.

looks liked it was firing 142536 instead of 162435

Are you counting the cylinders the right way?

There's a little sticker at the far right of the engine bay showing which cylinder is which and where the plug wires connect on the distributor.

I think there are some configurations where it will run - out f what? -- 150 or so possibilities (6 factorial right?). But I'd not drive it until absolutely sure you have it right.

Hopefully, there is no real damage done.

Must have traced the wires back the wrong way, connected them as stated on the sticker and disti cap, all is well
