big curved engine washers

Does anyone know which way they are supposed to be mounted?
Concave side down so it cups the rubber bushing? Or concave side upward?

Apparently the CD-ROM parts guide and some repair manuals disagree about this, and I've seen them both ways on various cars.

Maybe it doesn't matter....?

Mine are cupped toward the rubber as are others I've observed.

Read a recent tech article in Excellence a few months ago...

In the late 70's, Porsche specified that they should be installed "concave side upward' to eliminate engine/chassis vibration. They also mentioned that is this didn't eliminate/help vibrations, then re-mount them as they were (Concave side down so it cups the rubber bushing).

So it dosent look to matter which way they are mounted.
