rdane, the range is correct from what I've gathered. It includes all the bits and pieces, plug wires, head work and the MSD units and coils. It presumes you don't already have any of the required items.

I think that the range $2400-2800 would be correct because it assumes that you don't have any of the parts and there would be more expenses in an SC motor to get this conversion to work.

-Having Steve convert the distributor -Machine work for the second plug (heads, valve covers, chain box) -swapping the gear on the crank. This is the only work that isn't DIY friendly, above and beyond what would be done in the course of a rebuild. David, my $1700 figure was everything I spent to convert my SC engine to twin plug. If you take your car to a shop and say "twin plug this" it will be MUCH more expensive. I removed the engine, I tore it down, I took my heads to the machine shop, I did the wiring, I mounted the CDI box, I modified the engine tin for the lower plug wires, etc. Paying someone else to do all that labor, would raise the price significantly. All that for $2800 sounds like a hell of a deal I am glad my labor is free. Tom |

When I need a new motor it will definitely be a 3.6 swap for me. That would be the ultimate sleeper. Plus, let's say you spend $9000 for the right motor from Harald. You get the twin plug setup for free!
